Christopher Choong

Christopher is an experienced ex-military officer who has served the Malaysian Armed Forces lustriously tor 32 years. Retired as a Lieutenant colonel, he is an experienced and qualiied trainer. He has held al the various posts in an infantry battalion and has spent most of his military career as an Instructor / Directing Staff at the Army Combat Training Center, Staff at Training and Doctrine (TRADOC), Staff Officer Training and Operations at the various HQ: Army HQ. Malaysian Armed Forces HQ as well as at the joint Forces HQ. He obtained his Masters of Management (distinction) from University Malaya and has various other qualifications from various institutions either locally or abroad.

While at the Army Combat Training Center, Christopher was the pioneer in setting up the Special Warfare Cell where he developed the Malaysian Operations in Built Up Areas as well as the Small Unit Operations doctrines. He also developed the Malaysian Army. Military Appreciation Process (MAP- Decision Making) doctrine which is currently widely Use throughout the Malaysian Army Utlizing his skills in military decision making. he has helped developed the initial defence plan for northern Peninsular Malaysia as well as for the entire Sabah and sarawak regions. He has also helped in developing the defence and operational concept for the defence of the 'golden triangle in Kuala Lumpur. This skill is also used in helping the Malaysian Armed Forces prepare themselves for various exercises in the region.

Being an outdoor enthusiast. Christopher teamed up with an outdoor training provider, TransEdventure Pte Ltd and currently is the Senior Facilitator. He facilitates programs for teambuilding, leadership and management for corporate companies, colleges and school.

In 2014, he joined Check-6 as a Consultant Coach and is currently the Lead Senior/Stan Performance Coach for Check-6 Malaysia. He has conducted workshops on High Reliability Organisation, Planned Based Execution and High Reliability Leadership for high risk industries namely the oil and gas as well as the health industry. He is a certified Training the Trainer with the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources as well as an external assessor with the Northern Council for Further Education in the United Kingdom.

In Addition, christopher is an avid writer and still contributes his writings to the Malaysian Army journal, soROTAN DARAT. He writes on military strategy, military history, management, leadership and oyber security.

He has been awarded several honours and meritorious medals from his Majesty the King: Defender of the Realm (A.M.N)}; Knight Officer (KA.T; Distinguish Conduct Medal (PJ.K); Malaysian Order of Merit- Malayan Emergency (PJ.M); Loyal Service Medal (P.P.5) and General Service Medal (P.P.A).
