Barry Coffey

Barry Coffey has extensive work experience in the fields of compliance, risk operations, and fraud prevention. Their most recent role was as the Director of Compliance Operations at Checkout.com, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Meta (formerly Facebook), where they held multiple roles including the Head of 1LOD Compliance and Risk Operations, Deputy/Interim COO of Facebook Pay International, Head of Risk Operations, and Head of Fraud & Compliance Operations. Barry was with Meta from 2019 to 2023. Before joining Meta, Barry worked at PayPal, starting in 2009. At PayPal, they held positions such as Global Program Manager, Risk Operations Lead Manager, Lead Team Leader of the Fraud Escalation team, and Senior Compliance Specialist. Barry also has experience in hedge fund accounting from their time at Citco Global Subsidiary Governance Services. Additionally, Barry served as the Student Union President at Technological University Dublin from 2005 to 2006.

Barry Coffey completed their Bachelor of Business degree from Technological University Dublin from 2001 to 2005. During this time, they focused on financial accounting, management, marketing, and related support services. In 2012, Barry pursued a Diploma in Coaching for performance from Dublin Business School. Then in 2019, they attended the International Coach Federation to earn the EQ-i 2.0 certification, specializing in emotional intelligence.
