Ana Figueiredo Basto

Ana Figueiredo Basto is a dedicated veterinarian with extensive experience in wildlife medicine. Currently serving as the Chief Veterinarian at the Cheetah Conservation Fund since February 2021, Ana previously held the position of veterinary intern at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in early 2020. Academic qualifications include a Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and a Specialist degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation from Universidade Santo Amaro - Unisa. Early career experiences include roles as a resident in wildlife medicine and various veterinary externships, including at Cheetah Conservation Fund and Zoológico de Curitiba.
