Dr. Fabian Herz

Dr. Fabian Herz is a Senior Research Chemist and Application Specialist at Chem-Trend since February 2017, previously serving as a Research Chemist and Project Manager at Freudenberg New Technologies KG from February 2015 to January 2017. Dr. Herz holds a Ph.D. in Wood Biotechnology from The University of Göttingen, where research focused on the use of poplar and willow wood from short rotation forestry for bioethanol production. Additional educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Wood Biology and Wood Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Forstwissenschaft, both earned from The University of Göttingen, as well as an STSM in Holzchemie from the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry. Research expertise encompasses chemical pre-treatment, enzymatic hydrolysis, and the extraction and purification of hydrolytic enzymes.
