Aynur Mukhametshin

Head Of Market Risk at Chenavari Investment Managers

Aynur Mukhametshin has a strong background in quantitative analysis and risk management. Aynur started their career at JPMorgan Chase Bank in 1998, where they worked as an Associate and later as a Desk Quant, Vice President. During this time, they developed and implemented P&L valuation and risk management tools for traders and conducted quantitative analysis and research on various equity derivatives and credit strategies.

In 2006, Aynur joined Renaissance Capital as a Vice President, focusing on trading the short end of the Russian ruble interest rate curve. Aynur also worked on new product and risk/P&L infrastructure development, as well as risk management and booking system solutions.

In 2007, Aynur moved to Merrill Lynch as a Desk Quantitative Analyst, Vice President. Here, they were responsible for quantitative analysis of trading strategies and the development of risk management and P&L tools. Aynur managed a legacy structured credit book, with a focus on convexity and default optimization.

In 2009, Aynur joined BlueCrest Capital Management, LLP, where they held various roles as a Quantitative Analyst, Trading Strategy Manager, and Business Manager. Their responsibilities included developing trading strategy tools, managing market data quality and timelines, and implementing new products.

Most recently, Aynur has been with Chenavari Investment Managers since 2016, where they serve as the Head of Market Risk.

Aynur Mukhametshin completed a Master's Degree in Mathematical Trading and Finance from Cass Business School from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, from 1991 to 1997, Aynur studied Technology and Construction of Electronic Computer Systems at the National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET). Aynur also attended the Kolmogorov maths boarding school at the Moscow State University for high school from 1990 to 1991.
