Amanda Helleman

Research Assistant at CHEO Research Institute

Amanda Helleman has extensive work experience in various research and clinical roles. Amanda has been employed at CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) since 2020, where they currently serve as a Patient-Provider Clinical Data Liaison. Prior to this, Amanda worked as a Research Assistant and Project Coordinator at CHEO Research Institute from 2018 to 2020. In this role, they focused on mental health research and assisted with a randomized controlled clinical trial. Amanda also has experience as a Freelance Research Consultant, an Academic Advisor Intern at Carleton University, and a Counselling Intern at Rideau Family Health Team. Additionally, they have worked as a Research Assistant at uOttawa and the Mood Disorders Centre of Ottawa, and as a Co-Instructor at the Enrichment Mini-Courses Program. Amanda's work experience spans over a decade, showcasing their strong background in research and clinical settings.

Amanda Helleman has a strong academic background in the field of psychology. Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with Honors in Experimental Psychology from Carleton University, which they attended from 2005 to 2009. Following their undergraduate studies, Amanda pursued further education and completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Counselling at the University of Ottawa, where they studied from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Amanda has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In 2013, they completed the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) program offered by the Canadian Mental Health Association. Amanda also holds a Tri-Council Policy Statement-2 Certificate obtained from the Government of Canada in August 2016. More recently, in January 2023, Amanda completed the Epic Research Level I Training at the CHEO Research Institute. Additionally, they obtained a certification in International Conference on Harmonization - Good Clinical Practice from the University of Ottawa in August 2021.
