Jason Berman

CEO and Scientific Director at CHEO Research Institute

Jason Berman has extensive work experience in the medical and research field. Jason currently serves as the CEO and Scientific Director at the CHEO Research Institute, as well as the Vice President of Research at CHEO--Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Jason is also a Full Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa. Prior to their current positions, they held the role of Interim Vice President of Research, Innovation, and Knowledge Translation at the IWK Health Centre. Jason has also held various positions at Dalhousie University, including Associate Chair of Research in the Department of Pediatrics, Full Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics, Pathology, and Microbiology & Immunology, and Director of the Clinician Scientist Graduate Program and the Clinician Investigator Program at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Jason has also worked as an Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy and the Department of Pathology, and as an Associate Chief Resident at The Hospital for Sick Children. Furthermore, they have research fellowships and clinical fellowships from Harvard Medical School and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, respectively. Jason has also worked as a Staff Scientist at Children's Hospital, Boston.

Jason Berman completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from York University in 1993. Jason then pursued a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1997. Following this, they undertook a Residency in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto, which they completed in 2000.
