Nicholas Mitsakakis

Senior Biostatistician and Associate Scientist at CHEO Research Institute

Nicholas Mitsakakis has extensive work experience in the field of biostatistics and public health research. Nicholas is currently serving as a Senior Biostatistician and Associate Scientist at the CHEO Research Institute. Nicholas is also an Adjunct Faculty member at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Prior to these roles, they were an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. Nicholas has also worked as a Course Director and Instructor at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Mr. Mitsakakis began their career as a Biostatistician at the Toronto Health Economics and Technology Assessment (THETA) Collaborative.

Nicholas Mitsakakis holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biostatistics from the University of Toronto. Prior to this, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Edinburgh in 1996. Additionally, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mathematics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon in 1995, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics from the same institution in 1991. In terms of certifications, they obtained the title of Professional Statistician (P.Stat.) from the Statistical Society of Canada / Société statistique du Canada in October 2016. Nicholas also obtained a Certificate in Project Management from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2016.
