Cbo Paul Laney

Paul Laney, CBO, MCP, currently serves as the Director of Building Inspections & Development Services for Cherokee County, a position held since April 2018, where responsibilities include managing operations for both the Building Inspections Department and the Development Service Center, overseeing commercial and residential building permits, business licensing, and alcohol licensing. Previously, Paul Laney was the Certified Building Official for Cobb County Government from January 2017 to April 2018, managing the Development and Building Inspection Department. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Building Inspector for the City of Canton from August 2015 to January 2017, where inspections focused on commercial construction projects, and as a Construction Inspector for the City of Woodstock from February 2013 to August 2015. Before these roles, Paul Laney was President of LPI in Woodstock, Georgia, from January 1984 to February 2013, overseeing all aspects of commercial and residential construction, including project management, budgeting, and compliance. Paul Laney is a member of the International Code Council and the North West Georgia Inspector Association.
