Erik Peterson

Program Manager at Cherokee Federal

Erik Peterson has a diverse work experience in both the military and private sector. Erik began their career as an Army Officer in 2000, serving until 2013. During their time in the military, they held various roles including Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Senior Operations Manager.

After leaving the Army, Erik joined the US Army as a Program Manager in February 2017. In this role, they collaborated with executives on strategy and delivery processes, leading a team of 12 project managers in the successful completion of over 50 projects in 15 months. Erik then progressed to the role of Director of Operations from June 2018 to June 2020, before transitioning to the role of Recruiting Director and Talent Acquisition Advisor from July 2020 to March 2023.

Currently, Erik is serving as an Operations Management Specialist at Cherokee Federal since April 2023.

Erik Peterson's education history includes a BA in Economics & Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington. Erik also holds a Masters of Military Arts and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies. Additionally, they obtained a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University.

In terms of certifications, Erik Peterson has completed the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) program offered by the Scrum Alliance. Erik has also completed the Microsoft Project Master Course from Udemy, the Agile with Atlassian Jira course from Coursera, and has obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
