Jalal El-Jayyousi has a strong background in environmental engineering and management. Jalal currently holds a position as a Senior Environmental Engineer at Cherokee Federal, starting in January 2023. Prior to their current role, they had an extensive career at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. From 2013 to 2023, they served as the Corrective Action & Groundwater Unit Chief in the Waste Management Program. In addition, they were the Construction Permits Unit Chief in the Water Protection Program from 2012 to 2013 and worked as an Environmental Engineer from 2010 to 2012. Before joining the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Jalal worked at the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations from 2002 to 2009, where they held roles as the HSEIA Coordinator and Environmental Engineer. Jalal started their professional career at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in 1994, where they served as the Project Management Unit Chief in the Superfund and as a Project Manager for the Superfund program.
Jalal El-Jayyousi has a Master of Engineering degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Jalal completed this degree in 1990. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan in 1986.
