Moritz Nathusius

Moritz is Cherry‘s General Counsel. He leads the firm‘s legal and compliance work, guiding Cherry‘s investment professionals with respect to transaction structuring, deal negotiation and execution. He also acts as a sounding board to Cherry’s founders for legal matters on a company level, including dispute resolution, litigation, and governance strategies. Prior to joining Cherry, Moritz served as legal counsel at Lakestar, a European multi-stage venture capital fund. Before that, he was a private equity associate in the Global Transactions Group at Freshfields. Moritz studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Münster before undergoing two years of practical training at the Berlin Court of Appeals. During this time, he spent time at the German Foreign Office as well as several large law firms in Berlin and New York. He then went on to pass the German Bar Exam with Distinction.
