Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Billing Manager provides administrative oversight of the medical and dental billing including financial/productivity issues, and regulatory billing requirements of CMS and the American Dental Association (ADA) codes. A highly motivated, detail-oriented billing manager assists in the day-to-day billing functions of the practice in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to medical/dental revenue cycle operations.
Qualifications
Certified in Medical/Dental coding
Previous experience as a Medical/Dental Billing Manager in an FQHC setting, preferred
Current COVID-19 and flu vaccines required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
What You’ll Do
Maintain relationships with all insurance companies to ensure claims are paid accurately and timely.
Handle the receivable accounts to ensure smooth cash flow, assess the validity of bills, and provide corrective action measures, when necessary
Evaluate billing and staff performance, and resolve issues raised by staff
Review and analyze billing data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Ensure claim denials are corrected and reprocessed accurately and timely
Maintain both Athena and Dentrix billing systems
Assist the Chief Financial Officer with audit inquiries.
Hiring, training and supervising billing staff and working in partnership with the Office Managers in relationship to Patients Services Representatives data capture, and accurate recording of patient insurance data
Annual clean-up of suspended claims and updating of fees and codes
Places high value on personal and departmental performance excellence
Maintains patient confidentiality
Coordinate credentialing issues with the Director of Human Resources and Administration
Able to effectively assist with wrap audits and denials, as needed
Maintains courtesy and diplomacy when interacting with clients
Develop and maintain billing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Understanding of policies and procedures of organization
Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
