Position Summary

ChesPenn Health Services is seeking an experience General Accounting Manager under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer to be responsible for creating departmental budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting on programs' financial results and operations.  The Manager will provide support, training, coaching, and mentoring to program leaders on all financially related matters.  The Manager is responsible for identifying additional enhanced revenue streams in support of performance quality measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.  Highly experienced in accounting and program auditing, forecasting and creating budgets.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in the fields of medical/dental billing, finance auditing, budget creation, and projections
  • Current COVID-19 and flu vaccines required

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a licensed automobile, preferred.

  • Ability to meet approved minimal physical and medical standards.

Scope of responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide direct supervision of the accounting and billing departments.
  • Creation and distribution of departmental budgets and implementing solutions and opportunities for cost reduction and increased profitability
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts including operational revenue and expenses and capital expenditures. Enter data into budget tracking software.
  • Assist in analyzing and reporting of key performance indicators
  • Track monthly expenses against budgets, identify and analyze trends, alert the Chief Financial Officer about potential issues, and provide recommendations for solutions.
  • Assist with providing training and education on relevant financial matters to program staff, including expense monitoring, check requisitions, cash handling and consumer funds management
  • Provide oversight and the accurate recording of invoices and other reporting for cost reimbursement contracts and grants, insuring compliance with all funders and ChesPenn guidelines.
  • Oversee credit card activity, including monitoring credit card usage for unusual transactions.
  • Monitor patient cash receipts tracking and the staff Accountant
  • Oversee fixed asset ledger and accounting for asset purchases/disposals
  • Responsible for oversight of all grant reporting including developing budgets for grant proposals, providing documentation to grantors, and generating monthly grant reports in accordance to grantor specifications / timelines
  • Complete monthly visit report (provider productivity and payor mix reporting)
  • Complete all other financial duties as assigned
