Ed Nicely possesses extensive experience in emergency response and public safety, currently serving as the American Red Cross Training Lead for the Virginia Region since May 2022. Concurrently, Ed has been a member of the Chesterfield County Police Department's Auxiliary Unit since May 2008 and holds a leadership role with Team Rubicon as the Richmond/Central Virginia Planning Lead since February 2019. Ed's background also includes significant contributions to Chesterfield County in various roles since September 1991, including Special Project Manager and Service Coordination Manager. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Director for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs from June 1986 to August 1991. Ed holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Special Education and Teaching from Concord University, completed between 1979 and 1983.
