Shawn Whitacre

Shawn Whitacre is a highly experienced professional in the field of chemical engineering, currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer for Automotive Engine Oils at Chevron since September 2013. Prior to this role, Shawn held the position of Director of Chemical Technology at Cummins, Inc. from May 2006 to August 2013, and worked as a Senior Engineer I at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where Shawn led the Advanced Petroleum Based Fuels Task. Earlier in Shawn's career, a Senior Engineer position at Cummins, Inc. involved work in chemistry, fuels, and lubricants. Shawn earned both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton, completing the master's degree in 1996 and the bachelor's degree in 1995.
