Carmen Vergara is an experienced professional with a strong background in healthcare and community partnerships. Currently serving as a Board Member for Mobile Care Chicago and the Open Center for the Arts, Carmen also holds the position of Vice President of Community Partnerships at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Involved with the Illinois Department of Public Health as a member of the Diversity in Health Care Task Force, Carmen has significant leadership experience as Co-President of the Board of Directors for Firebird Community Arts and previously as Chief Operations Officer and Director of Quality and Practice Transformation at Esperanza Health Centers. Carmen's healthcare journey began as a Research Nurse Specialist at UIC and an RN for Mobile Care Foundation. Carmen's education includes a Civic Leadership Academy degree from the University of Chicago and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago, where a Bachelor of Science in Nursing was also earned.
