Plant Documentation Manager at Chicago Botanic Garden

Jessica Wong serves as the Plant Documentation Manager at the Chicago Botanic Garden since April 2022, overseeing documentation for over 2 million plants with a dedicated team of three staff members. Previous experience includes the role of Plant Records Coordinator at The Dawes Arboretum, where management of plant records and mapping was conducted using IrisBG and ArcGIS from February 2019 to April 2022. Jessica also worked as the Garden Records Manager at Descanso Gardens Guild, Inc., from September 2014 to January 2019, focusing on inventory, mapping, and GIS data management of living collections. Early career positions include internships at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, and Longwood Gardens, where involvement in plant records management and curation activities took place. Jessica holds a Master of Arts in Museology/Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puget Sound.
