Yesica Rufino-Perez

Chief Governance Officer at CHICAGO CHARTER SCHOOL FOUNDATION

Yesica Rufino-Perez is the Chief Governance Officer for CICS. She was previously the Managing Director of Network Policy at CICS. Yesica is responsible for leading efforts to ensure compliance with local, state and federal mandates with aim of providing all students within our network with equitable, high-quality instruction. Prior to joining CICS, Yesica served as Director of Operations at The Montessori School of Englewood, leading school operations and compliance.

Yesica also worked at Chicago Public Schools’ Office of Innovation and Incubation as Manager of New School Incubation, supporting new charter and alternative schools through their first year of operation. Her passion for supporting students and staff began as Founding Family Care Coordinator at DC Public Schools’ Early Stages Center, where she supported immigrant families gain access to Special Education services.

Yesica is member of the Illinois Advisory Council on Bilingual Education and has a B.A. in international studies from Loyola University Chicago. In her spare time, Yesica enjoys learning about new cultures and cuisines near and far.
