Kathryn Richards

Kathryn Richards serves as the Inspector General for the Chicago Housing Authority since April 2021, following a significant tenure at the City of Chicago Inspector General's Office where Kathryn held the positions of Chief Assistant Inspector General and Assistant Inspector General from November 2010 to April 2021. In these roles, Kathryn provided leadership to OIG attorneys, overseeing internal investigations, audits, and public safety oversight projects. Prior experience includes serving as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and a Law Clerk in the City of Chicago's Department of Law. Kathryn's educational background includes a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, along with an Associate of Arts from Bard College at Simon's Rock.
