Farah Tunks

Region Director, Central at Chicago Park District

Farah Tunks is the current Region Director of Central at the Chicago Park District. Farah has been with the organization since November 2007, starting as a Park Supervisor of Recreation. Farah has also been a Dance Instructor/Choreographer at Mayfair Academy of Fine Arts since September 1994.

Tunks has been dedicated to their work with the Chicago Park District for over 10 years. In their role as Park Supervisor, they have worked at National Teachers Academy and Ping Tom Park & Leonard Louie Fieldhouse. Farah is currently responsible for overseeing all operations and programming for the Central region of the park district, which includes over 50 parks.

Tunks is also a highly accomplished dancer and choreographer. Farah has been teaching dance for over 25 years and has choreographed for various dance companies and schools. Her work has been featured in multiple film and stage productions.

Farah Tunks has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision from the University of Illinois Chicago. Farah also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Illinois Chicago.

Their manager is Rosa Escareño, Interim General Superintendent & CEO. They work with Larry Labiak - Disability Policy Officer, Dana Zilinski - Director, Revenue, and Patrick J. Levar - Chief Operating Officer.
