Patrick Molloy

Director, Government & Public Affairs at Chicago Public Library

Patrick Molloy is the Director of Government & Public Affairs at the Chicago Public Library. Patrick previously worked as a student teacher at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School and Washington Irving Elementary, where they prepared and executed lessons for grades K-5th in alignment with the Common Core curriculum. Patrick also worked as a Youth Services Associate at the River Forest Public Library and as an Office Administrator at Strauss Tax Service. In 2010, they completed an internship with Electro-Motive Diesel, where they gained experience in the benefits field. Patrick is passionate about education and believes that libraries play an important role in providing equal access to information and opportunities for all.

Patrick Molloy received their B.S. in Business Management from the University of Illinois Chicago with College Honors. Patrick then went on to get their Master’s Degree in K-12 School Librarianship from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, School of Information Sciences.

Patrick Molloy works with Greg Diaz - Chief, District 4, Central East & District 3, Dana Revilla - Chief, District 2, Northeast, and Deanie Adams - Director, Sulzer Regional. Patrick Molloy reports to Chris Brown, Commissioner.
