Melissa Rooney is an accomplished author, editor, and educator with extensive experience in writing, reviewing, and teaching. Currently serving as a Book Reviewer for the New York Journal of Books and a Performing Arts Reviewer for Triangle Review, Melissa also conducts writing workshops as a Writer in Residence at both the Durham Public Schools Foundation and Summit School, focusing on elementary students. In addition to grant writing for Urban Sustainability Solutions, Melissa has a strong background in children's literature, having authored multiple books including the *Eddie the Electron* series and *Larry the (Roanoke) Logperch*. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a passion for education and the arts, Melissa Rooney continues to make significant contributions to various communities through their diverse roles.
