Alyssa Silva-Rafi

Alyssa Silva-Rafi currently serves as the ITBE President at ITBE Illinois TESOL & Bilingual Education and as a Virtual Instructional Coach for the We Care Mentoring Program at the Chicago Teachers Union. With experience as a teacher at Chicago Public Schools since January 2014, Alyssa has also held roles as a Tutor Corps Interviewer, TAT Teacher (Elementary/ESL), substitute teacher, and student teacher. Prior experiences include serving as an instructional coach with the New Teacher Center and a literacy coach for a grant-funded initiative at Concordia University Chicago. Alyssa's educational background includes a PhD candidacy in Leadership specializing in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on ESL, and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, all from Concordia University Chicago, along with an Associate of Arts degree from City Colleges of Chicago-Wilbur Wright College. Expected graduation from the PhD program is in 2025.
