Chicago Theological Seminary is a coeducational graduate school focusedon preparing individuals for their future roles in their church andcommunity.Academics at this school prepare students for obtaining a degree inDivinity, Theology, Religious Studies or Leaderships, Ministry orPhilosophy. Their Theological Field Education program allowsstudents tobranch out of their classroom and work in the community in order to applythe knowledge they have gained into real-world experience.Admissions for the master’s degree programs require that prospectivestudents have a bachelor’s degree, four letters of recommendation withtwo being from academic sources, a personal statement, all officialtranscripts, and a personal interview.College life at this school is different than many other seminaries.Chicago Theological Seminary is renowned for its relationship with thegay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, and has many studentsand faculty who openly identify as a member of the GLBT community.This school tries to diminish the cost of tuition through contributionsfrom donors. As such, financial aid is available through scholarships,fellowships, grants and loans to those who qualify.
