Phil Jurik

Director, Content, News at Chicago Tribune

Phil Jurik is the current Director of Content, News at Chicago Tribune. Phil has been with the Tribune since 2008, starting as a Deputy Metro Editor and then moving on to their current position. Prior to their time at the Tribune, Phil was a reporter for Daily Southtown and The Kansas City Star. Phil got their start in journalism in 1988 as a reporter for The Kansas City Star.

Phil Jurik earned their master's in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield and their BA in journalism from Northern Illinois University.

They work with Amanda Kaschube - Director of Content, Sports, Rochell Bishop Sleets - Director of Content, and Todd Panagopoulos - Director of Content, Photography. Their manager is Par Ridder, General Manager.
