Shannon Heston

Shannon Heston is an experienced technology leader currently serving as Vice President of Information Technology at Brookfield Zoo since September 2023. Previously, an Executive Director of Information Technology at Chicago Public Schools from October 2016 to September 2023, Shannon successfully managed the Reopening Program during the COVID-19 pandemic, delivering 44 projects that included distributing over 220,000 devices and implementing health measures for students and staff. Prior roles include Management Consultant and Owner at Point B, where Shannon led Salesforce implementation efforts, and Implementation Manager at Crowe Horwath LLP, providing strategic leadership for IT investment projects. Shannon’s early career at Rotary International involved managing cross-organizational projects and enhancing enterprise applications. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Technology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
