Betsy Akin has dedicated their career to helping others, whether it be through their work with Amnesty International USA, the March of Dimes, or their current position as VP of Development at Child & Family.
Betsy started their career in the non-profit sector as the Executive Director of the Rhode Island State for the March of Dimes. Besty then went on to become the Director, New England Collaborative for the organization before leaving in 2017 to join Amnesty International USA as their Director of Development, Northeast. Betsy spent three years with Amnesty before moving on to their current role with Child & Family.
In their current role, Betsy is responsible for leading and executing Child & Family’s development plans and strategies. Besty oversees a team of five and works to secure funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations to support the organization’s programs and services.
Betsy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Roger Williams University and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto.
Besty Akin has a graduate diploma in institutional administration leadership from Concordia University and a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Mount Allison University.
Their manager is Marty Sinnott, President & CEO. They are on a team with Jacqueline Mazza - VP of Finance, Robert Archer - VP of Program Operations, and Happiness Nosike-Unaka - VP of Performance Quality Improvement Programs.
