Krista M. has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Krista started their career as a Writing and Reading Center Tutor at UMass Dartmouth from 2008 to 2010. Krista then worked as a Behavioral Health Center Intern at Family Service Association in 2012.

In 2013, Krista joined Child & Family Services, Inc. and held multiple roles including Therapeutic Mentor, In-Home Therapy Clinician, and Intensive Care Coordinator. Krista also volunteered as a Big Sister and served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Advisory Board.

From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Mental Health Coordinator at the Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County. After that, they joined Southcoast Health as a Clinical Social Worker from 2015 to 2020.

In 2020, they started their own private practice, Krista Machado, LICSW, where they work as a Psychotherapist offering individual and family therapy for children and adults. Krista also accepts several insurance plans.

Continuing their education, Krista pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Clinical Social Work at Rhode Island College from 2011 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Krista M. also obtained several certifications. Krista achieved the Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International in April 2022. In March 2022, they attained the License for Independent Clinical Social Worker from the Rhode Island Department of Health. In August 2020, they received a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Child & Adolescent Trauma from Rhode Island College. In February 2017, they obtained the Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker designation from Massachusetts, ASWB. Lastly, in July 2012, they obtained the Children and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) certification from EOHHS.
