April Wilson, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in research and academia. April is currently serving as the Program Area Director and Research Scholar at Child Trends in the Parenting and Family Dynamics area. Prior to this, they worked as a Managing Researcher at McREL International from 2014 to 2015. From 2012 to 2014, they held the position of Director of Research at TexProtects, The Texas Association for the Protection of Children. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the LBJ School of Public Affairs from 2011 to 2012. April also served as an Instructor at The University of Texas at Austin from 2005 to 2011 and as a Research Assistant at SEDL from 2010 to 2011.

April Wilson, Ph.D., obtained their Doctorate degree in Human Development Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. April studied at the university from 2008 to 2011.
