Jessica Bell is a Senior Research Officer at the Children's Cancer Institute since July 2020, focusing on environmental and genetic factors that influence childhood cancer initiation and exploring potential therapies to improve survival rates. Prior to this role, Jessica served as a Research Officer at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg from March 2012 to July 2020, investigating RNA-binding proteins and their expression in cancer, with recent work involving miRNAs and lncRNAs. Jessica completed a PhD in Cancer Research at UNSW, having previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Children's Cancer Institute Australia and as a Technical Assistant in the microbiology department at Mansfield Pathology. The academic background includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons in Immunology and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a focus on advanced life sciences, as well as an early education in human biology at the University of Sydney.
