Meghan Melo, ATR, LMHC, is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as the Outpatient Program Manager and Outpatient Therapist at Children's Friend and Family Services since June 2018. Previously, Meghan worked as an Art Therapist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute from July 2021 to February 2023, and held the position of Outpatient Therapist at Arbour Counseling Services from September 2017 to May 2018. Additionally, Meghan gained experience as an Art Therapy Intern at the Collaborative for Regional Educational Services and Training from August 2016 to June 2017, as well as at Hospice Services of Massachusetts from October 2015 to June 2016. Meghan holds a Master's degree in Art Therapy/Therapist from Lesley University (2015-2017) and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts, Art Therapy, Child Health, Education from Wheelock College (2011-2015).

Providing a voice for children… and supporting the families who care for them. Today’s families face a range of powerful issues- from depression to troubled relationships. These issues can have an enormous impact on everyone in the family – adults and children alike – and can have serious consequences in other aspects of their life such as school, work and in the community. In many cases, the best way to find solutions to these issues is through guidance and counseling. Children’s Friend Mental Health services are provided by 100 staff members and reach over 3,000 children and families each year with clinics located in Salem, Lynn, Gloucester and Lawrence. Our services are specifically designed to address concerns of individuals or the family ranging from relationship and behavioral issues to grief, anxiety, trauma, depression and stress. Children’s Friend is dedicated to making sure that our services remain flexible and family friendly. We accept a variety of insurance plans.
