Children's Hunger Alliance
Emma Root serves as a CACFP Program Specialist at Children's Hunger Alliance since June 2022, focusing on ending childhood hunger in Ohio. With concurrent experience in Food and Nutrition Services at Lindner Center of HOPE, Emma has also worked as an Afterschool Program Leader for Chico Area Recreation District, filling staffing gaps and enhancing student engagement through various activities. Prior roles include Customer Service Associate at HomeGoods, where skills in customer service and financial transactions were developed, and an Internship at Center For Healthy Communities at Chico State, where Emma contributed to a nutrition education curriculum and assisted clients with the CalFresh program. Emma holds a degree in Nutrition and Food Science from California State University, Chico, completed in 2020.

Children's Hunger Alliance
Children’s Hunger Alliance ensures that children without access receive healthy food, nutrition education and physical activity. We do this by expanding school breakfast and afterschool meal programs, educating families and childcare providers to make healthy food choices, providing nutrition education and physical activities, and making sure there is a place for kids to eat when school is out for the summer.
