Mike Baker has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Mike started their career as a Software Developer at Tascomp Limited in 1990 and later worked as an Analyst at Serco from 1997 to 2000. After that, Mike returned to Tascomp Limited as a Senior Software Developer from 2000 to 2005. Mike then moved on to the University of Teesside where they worked as a Computing Officer in 2005. Mike's next role was at the University of Edinburgh, where they served as a Middleware Team Leader and Senior Research Systems Consultant from 2006 to 2012. Following that, Mike worked at the University of Sydney as an IT Manager of Research, where they were responsible for aligning technology services with the University's research agenda and enabling strategic objectives through innovative solutions. Currently, Mike is serving as the Head of Information Technology at the Children's Medical Research Institute, a position they have held since 2015.
Mike Baker attended Teesside University from 1988 to 1990, studying Computer Science. In 2008, they obtained their ITIL Foundation v3 certification from ITIL. Currently, they are pursuing a Masters in Cyber Security with a field of study in Information Technology at Charles Sturt University.
