Director, Physician-provider Organizational Support at Children's Mercy Kansas City

Alyssa M. Stephany, MD, MS, SFHM, PCC (ICF) has a diverse work experience in hospital medicine and leadership positions. Alyssa M. is currently serving as the Director for Physician-Provider Organizational Support and the Director for the Leadership Center for Physicians at Children's Mercy Kansas City, since January 2021 and August 2020 respectively. From February 2016 to August 2020, they held the position of Chief of Hospital Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Simultaneously, they also served as Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Hospitalist at Children's Wisconsin during the same period. Before that, they worked as a Med-Peds Hospitalist at Duke University Health System from July 2009 to December 2015, and also served as the Chief Resident for Pediatrics from June 2008 to June 2009.

Alyssa M. Stephany, MD, MS, SFHM, PCC (ICF) has an extensive education history. Alyssa M. received their High School Diploma from Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women in 1995. Alyssa M. then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from St. John Fisher University, which they completed in 1999. Alyssa went on to attend State University of New York Upstate Medical University and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2004. Following that, they completed the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at Duke University from 2004 to 2008. In 2022, they earned a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Healthcare Management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas.

In addition to their formal education, Alyssa has acquired multiple certifications. Alyssa M. obtained a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certification from the International Coaching Federation in August 2022. Alyssa M. also holds the Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach certification from Gallup, which they achieved in February 2022. Furthermore, they hold a certification from the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute. Alyssa is a member of the International Coaching Federation and has an ICF Member Badge. Additionally, they have certification from the American Board of Pediatrics, American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Alyssa M. has also obtained a Pediatrics Hospital Medicine certification from the American Board of Pediatrics.
