Marlene Bentley has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Marlene currently holds the position of Director, Corporate Communications at Children's Mercy Kansas City since April 2023 and has been with the organization since September 2017, previously serving as the Director, Public Relations. Prior to that, Marlene worked at Cerner Corporation as a Public Relations Program Manager from August 2014 to September 2017. Before their time at Cerner, Marlene gained extensive experience at Hearst Television, where they started as an Executive Producer at KMBC-TV in August 2006 and held the position until August 2014. Marlene also held the role of 10pm Producer at KMBC-TV from June 1999 to January 2006. Marlene began their career as a Reporter Intern at HOMTV from November 1993 to August 1994. Marlene also had a substantial tenure at WILX-TV, where they held various positions including Executive Producer, 11pm Producer, Associate Producer, and Production Assistant between May 1995 and June 1999.

Marlene Bentley earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Michigan State University, where they attended from 1991 to 1995.
