Mike Hastings

Mike Hastings has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Mike currently serves as the Director of Nursing Services at Children's Mercy Kansas City. Prior to this, they worked at the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), where they held various leadership roles including President, Immediate Past President, President-Elect, ENA Foundation Chair Elect, and Chairperson. Mike also worked as a Senior Consultant at Peregrine Health Services, LLC and as a Consultant at Philips. Earlier in their career, Mike had roles such as Emergency Department Manager and Interim Manager at Swedish Medical Center and Trauma Program Manager at Dell Children's Medical Cntr in Austin, TX. Mike also gained experience as a Research & Quality Coordinator at the University of Kansas Hospital. Mike started their career as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department and later became a Quality Outcomes Coordinator in Critical Care at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Mike Hastings earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from The University of Kansas from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they received a degree in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Nursing from Baker University from 2002 to 2004. Mike also obtained a certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse from the BOARD OF CERTIFICATION FOR EMERGENCY NURSING (BCEN®) in 2007.
