Dr. Robert Lane has extensive work experience in healthcare administration, clinical operations, and research leadership. Robert is currently serving as the Executive Vice President, Physician in Chief, and CMO at Children's Mercy Kansas City, where they oversee the strategic direction of various departments and centers of care. Prior to this, Dr. Lane was the Department Chair and Pediatric in Chief at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where they played a key role in transforming the department into a positive margin organization. Robert also held leadership positions at the University of Utah School of Medicine, including Division Chief of Neonatology and Associate Chair of Basic Research. Throughout their career, Dr. Lane has focused on empowering staff and driving professional development through servant leadership.

Robert Lane MD MS has a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Preprofessional Science from the University of Notre Dame. Robert then went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine. Robert also completed a Pediatric Scientist Training Program at the University of Chicago, focusing on the Molecular Biology of Developmental Origins of Health and Disease. Additionally, they completed a Neonatal - Perinatal Fellowship at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine. Finally, they obtained a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas.
