Children's Theatre of Charlotte
Mary Katherine Smith is a seasoned professional in arts education and community programming, currently serving as the Camps and Community Programs Manager at the Children's Theatre of Charlotte since May 2021. In this role, Mary Katherine oversees all summer camp programming across two locations, managing a team of 60 and a budget that spans fiscal years. Mary Katherine has secured significant funding through partnerships with organizations such as the Arts and Science Council and successfully launched a community dance program for preschool students, leading to increased funding for 2023. Previously, Mary Katherine served as a Teaching Artist at the Children's Theatre of Charlotte and as the Director of Education at Parkway Playhouse, where oversight of educational programming impacted residents across seven counties. Mary Katherine's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a minor in Dance from East Tennessee State University and an Associate in Arts Degree from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.

Children's Theatre of Charlotte is a fully producing, professional theatre company whose primary audiences are young people ages three to 18 and their families. Annually serving approximately 300,000, Children's Theatre of Charlotte is unique among theatres for youth by placing equal emphasis on the production of high-quality professional performances and comprehensive educational offerings. Each season, Children's Theatre of Charlotte mounts 12 productions for public and school audiences and provides educational programming at the ImaginOn facility and multiple satellite locations throughout Mecklenburg County. Children's Theatre of Charlotte's home, ImaginOn, is a shared facility in partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.
