York Schilling has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. From 2005 to 2011, they held various roles in Lufthansa Technik, including Deputy Head of Customer Support Engineering and Customer Support Engineering for PW 4000 Engine Service. From 2011 to 2014, they served as Manager Engine MRO Program HKG. In 2015, they joined Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen Co., Ltd., where they initially worked as the Manager for the Project Airline Support Team Engine Service before becoming the Head of Engineering and Customer Service Engine Service from 2016 to 2018. Subsequently, they moved to Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (GAMECO) in 2018 as the Director of Sales. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) starting from December 2022.

York Schilling earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of South Australia in 2013. In the same year, they also attended the European Summer School of Advanced Management at Aarhus University. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2005, they attended Technische Universität Dresden, where they obtained a Diplom/MSc in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, Aeronautik und Astronautik (aeronautical engineering/maintenance), as well as a Master of Science (MS) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering. Additionally, in 2008, they obtained the EASA Part 21 certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency.
