Alexander Shoemaker has extensive work experience in the banking and finance industry. Alexander is currently employed as the VP, Commercial and Medical Loan Officer at ChoiceOne Bank, where they manage a loan portfolio for healthcare professionals and collaborates with the marketing team to promote the bank's healthcare products. Previously, they worked at Lakestone Bank & Trust, where they held various roles including VP, Trust Officer, AVP, Assistant Trust Officer, Commercial Loan Officer, Commercial Loan Associate, Project Manager, and Management Trainee. In these roles, they supervised trust administration staff, led a core trust software conversion project, solicited new business and maintained customer relationships, analyzed financial statements and tax returns, and evaluated strategic initiatives. Alexander also gained early experience as an Intern at Corporate Plan Administrators, where they assisted with audits and financial data reconciliation.
Alexander Shoemaker earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business, specializing in the Weekend Program, from 2013 to 2015. Alexander also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan, obtained from 2005 to 2009. In addition, Shoemaker completed programs at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin - Madison from 2016 to 2018 and the Cannon Financial Institute in 2018, focusing on Trust I & II. Prior to these, they pursued the Perry Schools of Banking from 2011 to 2013, receiving accreditation from the Michigan Bankers Association.
