Tony Sam George

Dean, School of Social Sciences at Christ University

Tony Sam George has been the Dean of the School of Social Sciences at Christ University since June 2008. Tony was previously a Senior Lecturer at Sampurna Montfort College from August 2003 to June 2008, and before that they were a Psychiatric Social Work Consultant- Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences from January 1999 to December 2002. Tony began their career as a Research Officer at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in June 1998, where they worked until December 1999.

Tony Sam George has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Group Psychotherapy from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. Tony also has a Certificate in Theological Studies from the Association for Theological Education by Extension, and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Group intervention in Obsessive Compulsive Diosder from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. Additionally, they have a Master's Degree in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, Family counselling from Mangalore University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Botany and Zoology from Christ University, Bangalore. Tony also has a Pre University Degree in Pre University from Christ Pre University College, and a High School diploma from the University of London. Finally, they have a certification from grief.com in Grief Educator Certificate Program.

Tony Sam George reports to Paul Achandy, Chancellor. They work with Abraham Vettiyankal Mani - Vice Chancellor, Jyothi Kumar - Dean, Bannerghatta Road Campus, and Joseph C. C. - Pro-Vice Chancellor.
