Keith Roots

Keith Roots has extensive experience in university administration and advancement, currently serving as Senior Associate Vice President and previously as Vice President for University Advancement at Christopher Newport University since November 2011. Prior roles include Director of the Virginia College Advising Corps and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of Virginia from 1998 to 2011. Earlier positions include Assistant to the President at Longwood College and roles at the University of Texas at Austin as Graduate Assistant. Roots began a career in leadership with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Camp Director and District Executive. Root's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Virginia and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from The University of Georgia.
