Lisa Duncan Raines

Lisa Duncan Raines is the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success at Christopher Newport University. Lisa has over 30 years of experience in higher education, including 23 years at Virginia Tech.

At Virginia Tech, Lisa served in various positions in the Office of the University Registrar, Division of Enrollment Services, and Office of University Scholarships and Financial Aid. In their role as Enrollment Services Coordinator, they were responsible for coordinating and implementing enrollment services initiatives.

In 2003, Lisa left Virginia Tech to join Christopher Newport University as the Director of Planned Giving in the Division of University Development. In their current role as Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success, they oversee all aspects of enrollment management and student success. Under their leadership, CNU has seen record-breaking enrollment growth and increased retention and graduation rates.

Lisa Duncan Raines has a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Old Dominion University. Lisa is certified by LinkedIn in Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences and Leading Your Org on a Journey of Allyship.

Lisa Duncan Raines reports to Adelia Thompson, Interim President. They are on a team with Quentin Kidd - Provost, Jennifer Latour - Vice President for Finance and Planning & Chief Financial Officer, and Christine Ledford - VP, Administration & Auxiliary Services.
