Matthew Brehove has a diverse work experience, starting from their role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UCSB Department of Physics, where they built a fiber-optic coupler and performed photoconductivity measurements. Matthew then moved to The Ohio State University, where they worked as a Research Assistant, applying fluorescence techniques to study DNA-protein complexes and developing image analysis software to reduce manual analysis time. During this time, they also served as a Teaching Assistant. Matthew then joined City of Hope as a Postdoctoral Fellow, utilizing super-resolution microscopy to image human cell lines and biopsy tissue. Matthew also wrote algorithms and simulation routines to extract insights from molecular location data. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at ChromoLogic LLC, where they have won significant funding for innovative approaches, developed a novel method for non-invasive cell culture monitoring, and reduced labor through optical coherence tomography.
Matthew Brehove began their education in 2006 at UC Santa Barbara, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2010, they enrolled at The Ohio State University to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics. Matthew successfully completed their doctoral program in 2016.
