Product and Hard Security Problems at Chronicle Security

Mike Hom has a diverse work experience in the field of security and technical operations. Mike started their career in 2004 as a Network and Systems Administrator at the University of California, San Diego. Mike was responsible for system and network administration, incident response, and managing other student administrators.

In 2005, they joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Information Security Engineer, where they led various long-term and short-term projects. Mike developed testing workbenches, led teams to provide Computer Network Attack and Defense services, and improved the security posture of customer networks.

From 2010 to 2012, Mike worked as a Security Researcher at Naval Postgraduate School. Mike conducted research in automated static analysis, malware classification, and developed analysis tools for Windows and Linux platforms.

Mike then joined the United States Department of Defense as a Technical Lead and later as an IO/Field Operations and Researcher. Mike played a key role in IO operations and field technical operations.

In 2014, they joined Amazon Web Services as a Security Engineer/Technical Lead, where they performed incident response and handled global security operations. Mike also owned the evolution of the intelligence team.

In 2017, Mike joined In-Q-Tel as a Member of Technical Staff.

Most recently, in 2019, they joined Chronicle, where they worked as a Product and Hard Security Problems specialist.

In the same year, Mike also worked at Google as a Product Portfolio Lead and Hard Security Problems specialist under the Chronicle division.

Overall, Mike Hom has a strong background in security engineering, technical operations, and research in various prestigious organizations.

Mike Hom completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego, where they studied from 2000 to 2005. Afterward, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
