Jason Sauer

Jason Sauer has diverse work experience in various industries. From 2004 to 2006, they served as the Deputy Chief of Staff/Press Secretary for Congressman Ben Chandler in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2006, they joined the US Navy Reserve as a Commander. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as an Associate in Mergers & Acquisitions at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates. In 2013, they joined Humana Inc. as a Legal Counsel, specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions. Jason then moved to Churchill Downs Incorporated, where they held multiple positions, including Senior Director, Vice President, and currently Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. In this role, they have been responsible for identifying and executing growth opportunities through acquisitions, with a focus on the racing, gaming, and online entertainment sector. Notable projects include the acquisition of Exacta Systems and the acquisition of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment.

Jason Sauer received their AB degree in Government from Harvard University in 2002. Jason then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in National Security Policy Studies from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce from 2002 to 2008. In 2005, they attended the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, where they earned their Doctor of Law (JD) degree in 2008. Additionally, they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge in 2005.
