Heli Leesment

Heli Leesment is an experienced leader in financial crimes risk management, currently serving as Vice President of Enterprise AML Strategy, Governance and Advisory at CIBC since April 2024. Prior to this role, Heli was Vice President at Scotiabank, overseeing a team focused on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) policies from 2019 to 2023. Heli’s career includes serving as the Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer for Citi Canada and holding various compliance leadership roles at RBC, where responsibilities encompassed the development of compliance strategies and oversight of AML programs. Heli holds a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies and French Literature from McGill University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor.
