Dona M.P. Jayakody, PhD, FICDA, currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Curtin University and has held multiple roles at Ear Science Institute Australia since July 2012, including Head of Brain and Hearing and Research Lead for the Cognition and Hearing Loss Research Project. Dr. Jayakody's research emphasizes the connections between hearing loss and dementia, the creation of central hearing assessments for identifying dementia risk, and the effects of hearing loss rehabilitation on cognitive function in older adults. Additional roles include serving on the Scientific Advisory Board for CILcare, as a STEM Ambassador for Science & Technology Australia, and as a board member of the Australian Society for Medical Research. Past experiences include research fellow positions, clinical audiology work, and contributions to educational programs, with a strong academic foundation in audiology from the University of Canterbury and Bangalore University.
