Kathleen Spina

Kathleen Spina has over 30 years of experience in human resources. Kathleen worked as a Human Resources Administrator at BEI Electronics, LLC from 1991 to 1993, followed by a position as a Human Resource Representative at KENETCH Corporation from 1993 to 1995. From 1996 to 1999, Spina was a Senior Human Resources Representative at HARDING LAWSON ASSOCIATES.

In 1999, Spina joined MACTEC Engineering And Consulting, Inc. as a Regional HR Manager, providing HR support to 900 employees across the United States. Kathleen also counseled management on performance-related issues and employment law, and trained employees and supervisors on the company's performance management and compensation program.

From 2003 to 2006, Spina was the Director of Human Resources at Century Theatres, Inc. Kathleen provided HR support and training to 6,000 employees across eighty locations, and led company-wide initiatives for a leadership training program and employee handbook revision.

Since 2006, Spina has been with Cinemark, initially as a Senior HR Manager from 2006 to 2012. Kathleen then became a Human Resources Director from 2013 to 2019, responsible for HR support to 20,000 employees in 334 locations across 41 states. In this role, they partnered with senior corporate leaders and legal professionals in policy development and compliance initiatives, delivered coaching and development feedback to managers and employees, and handled employee relations, training, investigations, and communications. In September 2019, they became the Vice President of Employee Relations at Cinemark, a position they currently hold.

Kathleen Spina holds a Masters degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco, which they obtained from 1996 to 1998. Kathleen also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Finance from the same university, completed from 1988 to 1990. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from Cinemark in 2022, The Reid Technique Investigative Interviewing and Advanced Interrogation from The Reid Institute in 2022, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from Cinemark in 2021, and Certified DDI Trainer.
